Yes, a cover letter should only be one page long. It must grab the hiring manager’s attention and scream, PICK ME!!! If it looks like it might take hours to read; it will go in the bin. People will look at a 2-page cover letter and not even bother to start reading.

We recommend:

  • Between 250–400 words
  • Between ½ and one page
  • 3 to 4 paragraphs long
  • A good flow to ensure you don’t ramble
